Ultrasound Cavitation Liposuction is a non invasive method of fat removal achieved by using ultrasonic cavitation slimming machine. It is only referred to as liposuction, but there is no external suction involved in the process. This method uses ultrasounds to break down the fat tissue and liquefy it, the fat is later absorbed and removed by the body.
This method (in use since 2005) does not require surgery or making incisions on patient’s skin as in other types of liposuction, it is done externally by a qualified profesional. Patient decides which places they need to treat. Before the procedure the depth of the fat tissue is estimated to adjust the length of ultrasound waves.
Ultrasound cavitation is painless and does not require anesthesia. The usual sensation comes from the heat of the equipment used. The tip of the tool send out high frequency waves of specific length to precisely target fat in selected areas. The frequency destroys only fat cells leaving other tissue intact.
There are now many variations of this treatment with different name and various types of equipment. Also, ultrasounds and heat are combined in certain types of cavitation liposuction machines for greater effect.
This method is very safe, there is no bleeding involved and it is done on outpatient basis, meaning no hospital stay is necessary. Ultrasound liposuction targets the same areas of fat as normal liposuction would, abs, arms, thighs, legs, buttocks, waist. Depending on equipment, facial treatment is also possible.
After the treatment the area gets slightly red due to the heat and better blood circulation. Redness disappears usually after a day. Before the procedure there is no special preparation necessary as long as the patient is healthy. In general persons with cardiovascular problems have to be checked before proceeding.
The liquidized fat gets processed by internal metabolic system, absorbed by the bloodstream and removed by the kidneys or used as building products for other tissues. To make the removal process quicker a lot of water is necessary, about 3 liters on the first day and a minimum of 2 every day after.
Stubborn fat tissue takes longer to process and will require more treatments in succession. The minimal time between consecutive treatments is four days.
This is related to the length of time the liquefied fat needs to leave the body, which is roughly 72 hours. One session may not bring visible results so more is recommended, six consecutive sessions are normal, sometimes this number can go up to twelve.
Ultrasound cavitation liposuction method is becoming more affordable and available now. It is mainly related to the cost of equipment designed for specific procedure. Recently home versions are entering the market, but their effectiveness is lower comparing to those in professional use. The strength is limited so there is no risk to a person using this equipment at home. Because of that limit it also takes much longer to achieve desired results.
